Privacy policy

This policy covers the Stockery app for iPhone, iPad and Android, and this website. It describes what the product actually does.

Last updated

In short

  • You enter business data (items, stock, customers, vendors, invoices) so the app can run your stock and billing.
  • It is stored in a cloud database, and only members of your business can see it.
  • We do not sell your data. We do not see your card or UPI details; Apple and Google handle subscriptions.
  • You can delete your account and its data at any time in Settings.

What we collect

Account details. The name and email address you sign up with, so you can sign in and so we can reach you about your account.

Business data you enter. Your business name and details (such as GSTIN), items, categories, locations, stock quantities and history, customers, vendors, invoices, orders, prices, and any custom fields you create.

Photos and logos you upload. Item photos and your business logo, if you add them.

Subscription status. Whether your business is on Free or Pro, as reported by the App Store or Google Play. We receive the plan status, not your payment details.

How we use it

  • To run the app: keep stock counts, create invoices, send the alerts you turn on, and build your reports.
  • To sync your data across every phone signed into the same business.
  • To unlock Pro features when you subscribe.
  • To answer you when you contact us.

We do not sell personal data, and we do not use your business data for advertising.

Where it's stored

Business data is stored in a cloud database provided by Supabase, and photos and logos are kept in cloud storage. Every record belongs to a business, and the database only lets a signed-in user see businesses they're a member of. Data is sent over encrypted connections (HTTPS). An internet connection is needed to save changes.

Who we share it with

  • Service providers that host and run the app for us, such as our cloud database and storage provider, only as needed to provide the service.
  • Apple and Google, which process Pro subscriptions under their own privacy policies. Stockery never sees card or UPI details.
  • People you choose. When you share an invoice or stock summary on WhatsApp or by email, you send it through those apps yourself.
  • Authorities, if the law requires it.

Device permissions

The app asks for the camera (to scan barcodes and take item photos), photos (to attach images), and notifications (for stock and expiry alerts) only when you use a feature that needs them. You can turn any of these off in your phone's settings; the related feature will stop working until you turn it back on.

AI insights

AI insights (Pro) send overall figures only, such as counts of items that are out of stock or running low. They never send customer records or invoice lines.

This website

This site doesn't use advertising or analytics cookies. The contact form doesn't send anything to us directly: it opens your own email app with your message filled in, and nothing is stored on the site. Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs (such as IP address and browser type) to keep the site running and secure.

Keeping and deleting data

We keep your data while your account is active. You can delete your account and its business data at any time in the app under Settings. If you can't access the app, email us and we'll help.

Your choices

You can view and correct your business data in the app at any time, export your catalogue as CSV or Excel, and delete your account. To ask about the personal data we hold about you, email us.

Stockery is a business tool and isn't meant for children.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle data, we'll update this page and the date at the top. For significant changes, we'll also tell you in the app.
